Topics for Discussion

  • The biggest legislative news of 2025 was the passage of the massive OBBB reconciliation bill. With respect to employee benefits, the changes are less dramatic, but certainly meaningful overall.  Includes HSAs, DCFSAs, Trump Accounts, and student loans.
  • ACA employer mandate penalties continue to be enforced to a greater degree (and cost) than most H&W rules. We review the steps employers need to take to avoid them. Plus, the latest in ACA reporting with the recent changes that no longer require distribution to employees.
  • As we head into year six of the CAA, we review the remaining action items for fully insured and self-insured employers, including the delay of the new MHPAEA employer certification requirement.
  • A review of all the EB-related news that matters, from the elimination of the HIPAA reproductive health rules to new California IVF and PBM rules, the J&J fiduciary cases, and new Medicare Part D creditable coverage rules, always with an eye to the key action items for employers.
  • COBRA turns 40! We cover the issues still relevant for employers all these decades later.
